Bérengère KOEHL is a Pediatrician, Professor of Medicine and Hospital Practitioner in the Sickle Cell Disease Centre at Robert Debré Hospital in Paris and co-head of the team BaHSic. Her research focuses hematopoiesis in Sickle Cell Disease, vaso-occlusion cellular processes, chronic inflammation in SCD and transfusion medicine.

  • Investigating the impact of inflammatory signaling on hematopoietic stem cell differentiation using single-cell transcriptomics and functional assays.
  • Elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying vaso-occlusive events in Sickle Cell Disease, as well as potential therapeutic reversal strategies.
  • Deciphering the pathophysiological mechanisms of severe transfusion-related adverse events.
