Dr. Brieuc Pérot trained as an engineer at AgroParisTech, a leading French Grande École, where he developed a strong interest in immunology. He completed his final research internship at Harvard Medical School, studying mechanisms of apoptosis resistance in myeloid leukemia cells. He then pursued his PhD at the Institut Pasteur, where he investigated virus–host interactions in the context of Influenza A infection, using mouse models and genetically modified cell lines to study the impact of viral perturbations of autophagy. He subsequently joined the Imagine Institute for his postdoctoral research, focusing on the cellular mechanisms regulating immune responses to HIV infection and inflammatory diseases. Dr. Pérot is now a senior research scientist at Établissement Français du Sang and at INSERM unit UMR_S1134, where he studies the immune mechanisms underlying severe and potentially life-threatening reactions to blood transfusion.
