Fatima Sid-idris is a PhD student in the BAHSic laboratory, where she investigates the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying myeloid dysfunction in sickle cell disease. Her research focuses on the comprehensive characterization of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HPCs) to identify key molecular drivers of systemic inflammation in patients. She examines alterations in CD34⁺ HPCs in sickle cell disease, with particular attention to inflammatory signaling pathways and biased myeloid differentiation dynamics.
