Hugo Sugier is a PhD-trained engineer specialized in biotechnology, with a focus on cell characterization, blood group systems, and diagnostic development. He completed his doctorate at Université Paris Cité in 2022, where his research explored the physical properties of mesenchymal stromal cells using acoustophoretic methods and their applications in biomanufacturing. He conducted academic research internship at INSERM UMR_S1134, focusing on mitochondrial clearance during heme-induced differentiation in erythroleukemia cell models. He then worked as a laboratory technician at the Institut National de la Transfusion Sanguine (INTS), contributing to the characterization of a novel blood group system, ABCC1. He currently works at the Établissement Français du Sang (EFS), where he develops diagnostic approaches based on cellular models and investigates blood group systems.
